The Teen Scene made a big comeback in the 1990s. The stars of "90210" helped to re-establish teen magazines as their show became a major television presence. Johnathan Taylor Thomas (aka "JTT") from TV's "Home Improvement" took over the covers for many years, until the true second coming emerged with teen rock band Hanson. Soon Tiger Beat introduced boy bands and rock acts aimed at teens at the fastest pace since the ’70s. The Spice Girls, Back Street Boys, 98 Degrees and N'Sync were as popular at the turn of the century as David Cassidy and The Osmonds were at the height of Tiger Beat's circulation in the polyester years.
