By the time "The Hardy Boys Mysteries" debuted on TV, fan club kits were a big business. Although Lauffer Publications had been the champion,The Fan Club Corporation of America gave them a run for their money, creating a variety of higher-class (and pricier) kits for shows like "Starsky & Hutch,' "Charie's Angels" and a variety of pop groups. The kits were colorful andpacked with pix, though they were conspicupously filled out with many ads for other items for sale.
